Company History

Formation

Formed in 1993, BG Group Engineers was originally known as "Giorgio Giaroli and Associates, Consulting Engineers Pty. Ltd." The company quickly grew in size and in 1999 merged with another engineering company to create the now well-known BG Group Engineers company name.

The renamed BG Group Engineers experienced significant growth between 1999 and 2009, mainly through partnering with established clients and helping them grow and succeed. A recent review of our work base revealed that over 70% of our fee base is from businesses with over 10 years history in partnering with BG Group Engineers.

The sustained growth in the company and the changing client needs saw a re-focus occur in 2006. Clients were interested in the formation of a one-stop shop for engineering consultancies where BG Group could provide related consultancies in the same efficient manner in which structural services were provided. Indeed, for a number of clients, the Managing Director, Giorgio Giaroli, was already assisting with civil advice on projects. The overriding constraint though was that BG Group maintains its intimacy with established clients no matter how big it became.

New Divisions

So, it came to be that BG Civil commenced practice in 2006 under the able guidance of Giuseppe Finocchiaro. Giuseppe commenced his design career with BG Group in 1996 before leaving to further his civil experience with a well-known and established Civil Engineering company. His return was the catalyst for setting up BG Civil.

Giuseppe's talent and experience has seen BG Civil grow to become one of Brisbane's best known civil practices, with strong connections with the Brisbane City Council (BCC) - BG Civil was one of the first civil engineering companies requested by the BCC to participate in their self-certification partnership.

Following the successful initiation of BG Civil into the BG Group fold, BG Hydraulics was formed in 2012 under the extremely experienced guidance of Scott Ellis-Butler. Scott is a well-known Brisbane hydraulic consultant who has worked for a number of Brisbane’s largest and most successful developers. His guidance has seen BG Hydraulics double in size and project base since its inception.

Another milestone is the handing of the BG Structures reins down recently to its two most senior Directors; David Bell and Glen Farinazzo. These engineers have proven their value to the company by earning the respect of their respective clients and industry peers.

The Founding Director, Giorgio Giaroli, is ever present and ready to offer a guiding hand and offer his expert advice over all sections as and when required. Together with a specially selected team of experienced mentors, BG Group Engineers is well positioned to meet this coming decade head on and assist clients to succeed in this ever changing business world.
